Microsoft Ignite Session Scheduler: What to Expect and How to Prepare
If you're heading to Microsoft Ignite next month, you've probably been keeping an eye out for the session scheduler to open up. With just 22 days left until Ignite, it’s likely to go live any day now. In this post, I’ll share when the scheduler might drop and how to prioritize your schedule once it does.
When Will the Session Scheduler Go Live?
While Microsoft hasn’t officially announced a date, if previous years are anything to go by, the scheduler will likely go live on a Monday evening. However, you won’t get an email notification to let you know it’s live until Tuesday afternoon. If there are important sessions you want to attend, you may miss out if there is a registration limit.
Since we’re only 22 days out, I’m betting the scheduler goes live tonight, October 27th.
What Sessions Should I Prioritize?
If you haven’t already, head over to the session catalog and start favoriting anything that catches your interest. Don’t worry about being too selective, more is better here. You can always remove the sessions later. If a session even remotely interests you, favorite it. The sessions most likely to fill up quickly are labs and community activity sessions. Labs usually have a limited number of computers, and community sessions tend to be in smaller rooms since they’re more focused on networking.
What Should I Add to My Schedule?
Once the scheduler goes live, add all your favorited sessions to your scheduler. If things haven’t changed from previous years, you’ll be able to add overlapping sessions. Most labs offer two time slots, so I recommend temporarily adding both to your schedule. Once you’ve fine-tuned your plan, you can remove the duplicates. This way, you’ll secure the timeslot that works best for you and make the most of your Ignite experience.
Final Thoughts
With Ignite just around the corner, getting your schedule locked in early can make a big difference in how much you get out of the event. Keep an eye out for the scheduler to go live (possibly tonight) and be ready to jump in and reserve your spot in the sessions that matter most to you.
If you found this helpful, feel free to share it with others who are attending Ignite. And if you spot the scheduler going live before I do, drop a comment and let me know!
